Prive, the 2nd visit.

My second time at Prive, this time with Hubby. Click here to check out the food I devoured during my first visit and for more information. Prive changes the set lunch menu frequently so I would definitely be back to try out the new starters, mains and dessert. In addition, I appreciate the quiet ambiance, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Bread Basket with salted butter and…more salt. I don’t touch the salt as the butter is salty enough.

Duck rilette and chicken consommé gelee with frisee and mustard and orange dressing. I am not a fan of duck rilette, so I didn’t try it. Hubby felt it was yummy though…Pan-seared squid with croutons and curry tartare dressing 10/10. This is superb, wish I can have it again! The texture of the squid is slightly crunchy with a tart and slightly sour taste at the end.

Hubby ordered a Pan roasted strip loin, Australia grass fed 255g.  I am not a fan of steak but this was such a well cooked dish that I stole 2 bites from Hubby. Actually, maybe I had 3 >_<

Roasted chicken breast with Spanish chorizo sausages, puy lentils and creamy natural jus. The chicken was slightly flavored( enhanced by its own juices), which balanced the savory chorizo sausages and lentils perfectly.

California raisin cheese tart with vanilla bean ice cream and rum and raisin. A heavenly dessert which was not too rich.Caramel and peanut napoleon: peanut dacquoise, caramel cream and salted caramel sauce. An average dessert with a disappointing small serving. Being a sweet tooth, this was not sweet nor substantial enough to satisfy me. Made a wrong choice, should have ordered Hubby’s dessert instead, arghs!Coffee and tea is included in the set lunch. Yeahs!
