Whenever I feel like having crushed diamonds on my nails, I would reach out for OPI Crown Me Already! Part of the Miss Universe Collection Summer 2011, this nail polish reminds me of scintillating diamonds of the winner’s tiara.
This is silver glitter, but not plain silver glitter. The base is a micro glitter with medium circle glitter pieces and large hexagon pieces. This is what it looks like with 2 coats; the glitter is packed together tightly and looks opaque. I applied a thick layer of top coat to achieve a smooth finish.
When I don’t have time to paint my nails or wait for them to dry (or I am just being lazy >_<), I would do french glitter nails with this polish. This subtle look takes me only 5 minutes to complete and would dry within 10 minutes (with OPI drip dry drops)
As there are many solid pieces, the polish dries quickly but it tends to chip off after 3-4 days, which can be easily fixed by just adding more polish on top. Sometimes lifting of the large hexagon glitters occurs and this can be prevented by not applying the large hexagon glitter at the tip of the nail.
It takes ages to remove the polish; I usually wrap my nail with cotton soaked with acetone remover for about 5 minutes before wiping the polish off.
I have yet to try this polish as a top coat; bet it would look lovely on top of other polishes too 🙂
