Desserts!!! Who can resist them?
I like to nibble on some cheese after my mains, before moving onto dessert. I read that the French, who take cheese seriously, have it in this sequence. The British serve cheese after dessert while in Spain, cheese is enjoyed at the beginning of the meal. Anyways, this is a buffet you can eat in any order you want!
The Cheese Table
Oak Smoked cheddar(Good!)/White stone cheese/Herb cream cheese/Takara cheese
Kikorangi blue/ Wensleydale with cranberries
Crackers to go with the cheese
Here comes the sweets 🙂 Assorted cookies
Black current and traditional scones with clotted cream, lemon curd, assorted jams. The scones are heavenly.
The waffle station
My favorite toppings, yeah!
Chocolate coated cones for the ice creams
Cherry blossom and green tea pain de genes(Good!)/ Apricot cheesecake (Not too heavy, good!)Chocolate dip and assorted fruit dip/ Berry salad and kiwi marinated in yuzu
Pineapple upside down cake/ Meringue cookies/ Lemon curd fingers(Good!)/ English fruit cake
Peach tarte tatin/ Green tea crème brulee/ Assorted pralines/ Lamingtons
Macarons /Chocolate yuzu tart with pecan nuts(Good!)/ Brown sugar nut tart(Good!)
Espresso éclair(Good!)/ Lime meringue tart(Good!)/ Ginger honey pannacotta/ Tiramisu(average)
The buffet includes 2 drinks; you can choose from a wide variety of teas, coffees or hot/iced chocolate. The iced chocolate was a disappointment; Antoinette does a much better job.
I think I had 3 plates of dessert…they are sooo good…
I enjoyed this buffet tremendously and look forward to visiting again. Click here to view Part 1 which features the savories, salads and sandwiches
