The largest most colorful afternoon tea buffet in Bangkok is served at St Regis Drawing Room every weekend from 2pm-6pm. Diners can enjoy an indulgent spread of luscious, mouthwatering cakes , macarons, tarts, chocolate, cupcakes and more for THB 650++ (SGD 26) per person and THB 1200++ (SGD 49) for 2 pax.
My hotel stay included a standard complimentary afternoon tea set, not this buffet. Because I was too stuffed from lunch and the afternoon tea set, I gave this a miss. Another reason why I was not too keen in this buffet was because there were only sweets and no savories. I need some savory food to prevent myself from getting overwhelmed and feeling that the sweets are overly cloy.
The buffet table looks fabulous and no effort has been spared to make this afternoon tea into an extravagant affair. This blog post is a feast to the eyes, I shall not be making photo collages so that you can admire the cakes and drool at your screen.
Care is given to the display-diners are not encouraged to serve themselves; staff are always ready to cut a slice of any sweet you fancy. This is why everything looks so neat and tidy.
Large comfy sofa seats and a pianist playing romantic tunes
I took pictures of the whole spread but I didn’t managed to get all the names of the cakes
Mixed fruit tart
Chilled Mango Soup
Chocolate coated strawberries
Assorted Thai Mung Bean Marzipan and Thai desserts
Baked Apple tart
Macarons and white wine jelly with gold
Big hazelnut roll
Assorted cupcakes and macarons
Croquembouche it’s a tower choux pastry puffs balls, bounded by caramel. No idea why St Regis got this dessert’s name wrong….
