Leisurely lunch with my dear childhood friend SQ a few months back at St Regis Hotel’s Brasserie Les Saveurs. This fine dining establishment serves contemporary French cuisine; I have previous blogged about here, here, here and here. Do note that currently the restaurant no longer serves set lunches, but a buffet spread on weekdays and semi-buffet lunch on Saturdays.
The appetizers and the mains were not stellar but decently executed. Desserts certainly saved the day.
Amuse Brouche: Fried potato ball on a bed of tomato salad
Sliced smoked duck breast, marinated beetroot, croutons and balsamic
Sautéed snail with garlic and parsley, dried tomato and bread crouton. Escargot is an acquired taste, SQ loved it.
Oven-baked snapper, confit of capsicum ad herbs coulis. The fish tastes too bland and subtle so it doesn’t quite get off the ground.
Stuffed turkey breast with foie gras, lard, chestnut, sauteed Brussels sprouts and vegetables.
Chocolate passion royal log cake with red wine pear sorbet and champagne jelly. Chocolate makes everything better! Loved the soft and tender pear too 🙂
Caramel milk chocolate, praline sable with chocolate hazelnut ice cream. What a visual treat! Decently sweet, textured dessert was not cloying at all.
