Hi girls! It’s time for me to share the star product of my skincare regimen which I have been using since Dec 2012 – Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence! This is a dupe/copy-cat of highly popular and very expensive SK-II Facial Essence, also known to many as the Miracle Water, Shen Qi Shui.
I used SK-II Essence twice a day for about 3 weeks and didn’t have much luck with it. No, I didn’t break out in acne or pimples, nor had an allergic reaction. BUT it didn’t do wonders for me. My skin was a just a tad more hydrated. That’s it. No glow from within whatsoever. And the smell is…oh my…..
BTW I am currently also using SK-II Cellumination Essence EX, Cellumination Deep Surge Ex as well as Stempower cream. These products work well for me, and I shall be reviewing them soon. SK-II Miracle water certainly wasn’t a miracle for me….
The main difference between Sk-II Facial Treatment Essence and Missha First Treatment Essence is the ferment filtrate. SK-II use ferment filtrate from sake yeast while Missha’s ferment filtrate is from beer yeast. Hope in a blog wrote a very detailed comparison of both products ingredients here.
Sis raved to me how well Missha First Treatment Essence was working for her. It costs a quarter SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, plus there was a 15% discount, so I thought, why not?
The benefits of Missha First Treatment Essence are:
-Hydrated, smoother, brighter skin
-Restores skin and prevent wrinkles
-Improve fine wrinkles and skin tone
The essence hydrates my skin very well. On some nights when I only have 4-6 hours of sleep, my skin is not a wreck the next day. It also reduced the redness on my cheeks; SK II Facial Treatment Essence did nothing for my skin redness. I am 26 this year; although I do not have fine wrinkles, but I am determined to keep them at bay.
It comes in a bulky glass bottle with 150ml of product. Use it after cleansing with a cotton pad or pat it on with your hands. The consistency is watery and is quickly absorbed after application. It does not feel heavy nor sticky and is scentless (but does not stink).
I have tried both methods and prefer the cotton pad method, even though it uses a lot more product.
I tend to spill the essence and not much gets on my skin. Using the cotton pad method allows me to pat more essence onto my skin and the next day, it glows from within. I then pat the remaining essence on my neck to prevent lines.
