Woohoo! I am so glad I managed to grab 2 bottles of Crabtree and Evelyn’s limited edition fragrance: Venetian Violet.
This Eau De toilette is part of the Heritage Collection, launched in mid-october to celebrate Crabtree and Evelyn’s 40th Anniversary. The 7 scents in the collection were inspired by the Mediterranean coastline and Europe’s ancient cities
I was captivated by Venetian Violet’s delicate and elegant scent, so much so I snapped up 2 bottles which costs $88 each. Since its limited edition, I have no idea when I will have another chance of buying these babies. Better buy now!
The sophisticated fragrance was inspired by the violet flower which is the symbolic flower of the historic floating city, opulent Venice. Violet flowers play the leading role of this fragrance, while fruity notes of lychee, raspberry and peach give it a modern twist.
I don’t fancy the bottle with the screw-top stopper. It’s cumbersome to use, plus I am very afraid I may accidentally tip the bottle and spill this precious fragrance. The product also comes with a puff atomizer, which gives the beveled bottle an old world charm. However, I find the puff atomizer quite annoying as I need to squeeze it 4 times to dispense the same amount of fragrance compared to the usual spray nozzles you find commonly on perfume bottles. It’s a pain especially when you are in a hurry. Having said that, I am willing to overlook all these just because the fragrance is just so beautiful.
Because its an EDT, staying power is a rather short 4 hours. I bought a cheap $2.50 glass bottle from Sasa and transferred the fragrance using a dropper provided ( you can buy better droppers from Daiso) so I can spritz it on throughout the day.
I do hope that Crabtree and Evelyn will consider including this into their perennial fragrance offerings!
Update 20/5/2014: These babies are back in stores now, due to popular demand. While stocks lasts.
