Christmas is drawing closer and the festive mood is starting to fill the air. Have you decided on how to celebrate your Christmas yet?

I shall be doing 2 blog posts on Mandarin Oriental’s Melt The World Café Christmas buffet offerings. The first post will feature detailed pictures of the buffet spread I had in 2012, while the second post would list the prices and menus of Christmas Buffet 2013, for both brunch and dinner.

Unlike Ritz Carlton’s Greenhouse, where pre-christmas buffet starts in late November, Melt starts on the 21st Dec. Before the 21st Dec, the buffet spread is the usual one that you can have all year round.

Pre-Christmas Buffet at Melt was delightful, except for the pasta which I will elaborate later on. Avoid wasting stomach space on them.

Now, here are pictures of almost all the food I had during the Pre-Christmas dinner buffet with my family last year. Sorry about some blurry pictures and because I took them in a hurry. It took many hours to edit and compile this blog post, which I hope will be useful in helping you decide where to have your Christmas feast.

Asian noodles and Pasta Live Station

Noodles of the day is Seafood noodle soup, You can choose between tomato or cream based pasta, but I requested for Aglio Olio, which was poorly executed. There was also Vegetable and Chicken soup which was very flavorsome.

BBQ Live Station

Located at the Alfresco Terrace, which is a short walk outside the main air-conditioned area. Behold! Scrumptious BBQ fare with a large selection of condiments to choose from. My favorites are the live Tiger Prawns, Rosemary infused Tenderloin Steak and Garlic infused T-bone Lamb!

 Pastry and Sweet Endings

Melt is famous for having dessert section that makes people go gaga! Freshly made Belgian waffles, crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, is a must order. I try to have them early, as the queue which can get very long. Pair your waffles with home made ice cream (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, caramel, yoghurt) and toppings! Check out the freshly baked melt-in-your-mouth cookies too!
