Back at Gordon Grill to try their Big-on-small set lunch, which is a fantastic way to sample a variety of offerings. Some may wonder, what is Big-on-small? Basically it’s a tasting menu where you can select 3 appetizers, 3 soups and 2 desserts apart from your choice of a single main course. A 3 course lunch would set you back $50++ while 4-course is priced at $60++. For most fine dining restaurants, such good deals are only available on weekdays, but Gordon Grill serves Big-on-small set lunches on Saturdays as well. Set lunch (and promo) lovers rejoice!

My appetizer sampler:
–Al dente Cold angel hair pasta with succulent king crab, farm caviar and white truffle vinaigrette– I could taste every bit of the intense truffle flavor, which sent me to heaven.
– Tartar of US beef with celeriac remoulade, caper and mustard dressing
– Marinated langoustine with tomato marmalade and lemon dressing. The delicate flavoring allowed me to enjoy the lightness and freshness of the crustacean.
Close ups of the pasta and lobster…
M had Roasted duck foie gras with caramelized apple and raspberry ice; an interesting play on flavour and textures.
Cute little cups of soups to warm our digestive system for more to come.
French Onion Soup, with broth so savoury I can’t stop helping myself to it.
Mushroom soup with rich earthy flavour
Lobster Bisque with Cognac. Love the smooth texture and intensity of this soup!
Australian lamb chops with stewed cocoa beans and black olive glaze. Meat was cooked perfectly medium rare and didn’t have a gamy after-taste.
Spanish Iberico pork loin with fondant potato, white cabbage and natural jus. The surface of the meat is carefully browned while maintaining a pinkish tone inside. The pork is superb; thanks to the way Iberico pigs are reared. The Iberico pig is free to roam and have a special diet, which consists of acorns, which give the pig’s fat a rich, creamy melt-in-the-mouth texture.
Desserts were so pretty I can’t help but snap away!
Guanaja Chocolate parfait with raspberry sorbet and sour cherry sauce. Pleasantly tart, perfect for those who don’t like things too sour.
Kaffir lime crème brulee with lemon curd ice cream. Smooth flavorful custard with a touch of zing made my day 🙂
Granny Smith apple tart with caramelized nuts and vanilla ice cream. Buttery, nutty and sweet goodness-you will polish this off in a snap!
