MIL and I visited Decleor Institute located at the iconic Raffles Hotel to experience their facial and massage. Upon entering, we immediately felt at ease in the stylish, contemporary spa.

Massage therapist, Ginny, soothed MIL’s tight knots and muscles with a peppermint and cypress aromatherapy blend. The massage detoxifies and aids circulation; MIL was charmed by the relaxing and rejuvenating massage.

Before my facial, Annie performed an analysis on my skin. This machine measures hydration, sebum, elasticity, pH, keratin levels of the skin, as well as the size of pores.

Scored terribly for skin hydration, only 21.2 points. Continuous late nights totally wrecked my skin, sigh!

To give my skin a moisture boost, Annie picked the Hydra Floral range of skincare. These paraben-free products intensely replenishes and quench the skin’s thirst with aromatic mint, orange blossom water, codium extract (sea algae), wild pansy extract and hyaluronic acid. 100% pure and natural Neroli Essential Oil strengthen and soften the skin while Moringa oleifera seeds protects skin against pollution particles by limiting their adherence to the skin’s surface.

The spacious and well-appointed treatment room. Mention-worthy are the plush towels and heated bed; remarkably comfy! A long pillow placed below the shin and hot water bottle resting on the tummy elevated comfort levels up another notch.

The 60 minute treatment consists of standard facial steps-double cleanse, deep cleanse, exfoliation massage, mask, moisturize and protect. What intrigued me was the massage; it felt different from all the facial massages I have experienced so far. Inspired by shiatsu, Decleor’s Aromapressure facial massage promotes active absorption of essential oils and reinforces its benefits. I drifted off to lala land in no time.

Hydration level after the facial, passed with flying colours 🙂
