Back at Regent’s Tea Lounge and once again, I was charmed. As the pianist sets the mood, indulge in an extensive spread of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, Asian delights, sushi, savoury pastries and sweets. This is the situation which most of us look forward to on weekends. Relaxing or chatting with family and friends in an enticing afternoon tea destination.
Without further ado, let’s start with the food shall we? Be warned, they are absolutely drool-worthy. The offerings in this blog post will be available until the end of July.
Scottish Smoked Salmon, Smoked Mackerel Fish-white fish, Smoked Beetroot marinated Salmon, Homemade Smoked Cajun Tuna
Blinis with Salmon caviar, Avruga caviar, Green caviar, Salmon Mousse
Spicy Tofu, Octopus salad, Prawn salad, Green Papaya salad
Marinated Jelly Fish, Spicy Gazpacho
Smoked Chicken and Avocado Sandwich/ Smoked Salmon and Lemon cream Cheese in Mini Croissant/ Eggplant, Zucchini and Tomato Sandwich/ Egg and Cucumber Mimosa in White bread
I especially love this melt-in-the-mouth Cauliflower cream and Avruga Caviar tartlet. Its decadence in a bite!
Chicken wings, Chicken Satay and Ngoh Hiang. If you like something fried (who doesn’t?), you must try the chicken wings, which are delightfully crispy outside, with a beautifully flavoursome interior.
Waguy Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, Roasted Duck and Roasted Root Vegetables (not pictured)
Onion Foccacia with Anchovies
Seafood and Caramelized Pearl Onion Pot Pie
Tuna Puff, Salmon Quiche
Curry Potato puff and Mushroom Pie
Cheese board featuring Kikorangi blue, Manchego Dop Curado, Romero Wheel, Asiago, Preste Queseria, San Simon Da Costa Dop 45 days and Tetilla.
Ahhh, the desserts, totally blissed out on this. Needless to say, I left Tea Lounge with high blood sugar levels; but it has been worth every single bite and calorie. For those who like Asian desserts, you’d be pleased to know Cheng Teng is available as well.
Lemon Meringue Tart
Panna Cotta (I believe, there was no card and I didn’t have tummy space for it)
Chocolate Mousse Cake
Coconut and Raspberry Diamond
Cream Cheese Rainbow Cake
Assorted Chocolate Pralines
Assorted Chocolate Pralines with Alcohol
What’s afternoon tea without scones? Take your pick from fluffy Traditional or Cranberry scones, and enjoy them with intriguing jams such as Raspberry and Ginger, Peach and Lavender, Cassis and Violet. Other popular condiments such as Passion fruit and Vanilla jam, Strawberry jam, Clotted Cream, Lemon Curd are also available. Do not miss the freshly prepared Belgian Waffles, Crepes, plus homemade Ice creams and sorbets.
The buffet includes 2 choices of tea, coffee or chocolate drinks. For $58++ per adult, I consider Tea Lounge high-tea buffet excellent value for money for the variety and quality of food. Two thumbs-up for the sophisticated ambience and warm service.
