The ship stopped over at Laem Chabang port for 2 days, many guests took the opportunity to embark on a shore excursion. There are mainly 2 types of excursions, a day trip or an overnight stay. There were more than 10 options available, some to Bangkok and some to Pattaya. As we have visited Bangkok before, we opted for a day tour to another nearby province.
As we love photography, we picked a 6 hour day tour to Chaochoengsao Province to explore Wat Sothornwararamworaviharn (temple) and Klong Suan Market. We were greeted by a fleet of buses once we stepped out of the ship. Totally impressed how organized everything was.
Not feeling adventurous? You can choose to remain on the ship, of course.
Before the sightseeing tour, we stopped by a hotel to have lunch. No kick, because the food was not spicy at all!
Wat Sothornwararamworaviharn, the oldest temple in Chaochoengsao Province.
Each time a donation is made, girls in elaborate costumes will perform a dance for Buddha.
Press a gold leave onto the Buddha for blessing.
Klong Suan Market. A 100 year-old riverside market littered with wooden shophouses selling an array of local food, toys, clothes and vintage goods. We arrived in the late afternoon, so most shops were closed. Best to come in the morning when the market is bustling with activities.
The weather was most unforgiving hence I was glad to be back on the comfy ship 🙂
