This is the situation that most of us look forward to-a pamper session to renew, re-balance and re-energize the body and senses. Located beneath the Gamelan and Water Garden, the luxurious Fairmont Spa is not to be missed. The well-appointed stylish interior is warm and inviting, with a touch of rustic Balinese charm in the massage rooms.
Upon arrival, we were served chilled Lime and Lemongrass drinks to cool down from the heat. It’s amazing how a simple drink can taste so good. After deciding on the Signature Balinese Massage (75 min – Rp 650,000/ 90 min- Rp 800,000) we choose from the following blends to complement the massage:
-Basil and peppermint to clear the mind
-Chamomile and Eucalyptus to relieve muscle tension
-Bergamot and Geranium for emotion balancing
-Ginger and Jasmine for energizing
We wanted to freshen up with a shower before having the massage. Our obliging therapists lead us to this gorgeous bathroom equipped with a huge safe with a jewelry box, marble shower and a free-standing tub.
Changed and ready! But first, let’s take a selfie XD
The Couple Room, scented with Lavender and Ylang Ylang essential oils.
The session was conducted finesse and sophistication, like a sacred ritual, captivating our senses. First, the acoustics of a singing bowl helped relax our minds. Our feet were bathed with fresh flowers, cleansing crystals and scrubbed with salt. Each time an ingredient was rained upon the foot bath, the therapist performed a graceful hand dance.
The Signature Balinese Massage uses a combination of movements from Western and Eastern cultures, such as Indonesian, Breema Shiatsu, Thai and Swedish. The therapist delivered long, fluid strokes with consistent pressure and gentle stretching, kneading away every knot in our muscles.
The session concluded with tea and fresh fruits. It was an absolutely sublime experience and I highly recommend a visit to The Spa at Fairmont.
