I’m sure 1872 Clipper Tea Co. is no unfamiliar household name- a good number of us would associate the brand with exceptional and refined teas. With the expertise of local perfumery To Be Calm, 1872 Clipper Tea Co. has upped the ante by launching new lifestyle products, The Romance of Travel, a collection of 3 candles inspired by wanderlust, and yes, made with teas.
Add a touch of scent into the atmosphere with candles designed to refresh, relax or evoke the love of adventure in you.
Singapore Sunrise. Like the adrenaline rush of your first love, this blend of passion fruit, mango and invigorating green tea is sure to make your heart beat faster. Pulsating with the vibrancy of this fast-paced city, this scent will remind you once again of the greatest adventure in life- falling in love. The fragrance of the green tea is also known for its healing effects and revitalising freshness.
Fill the air with romance with Love In Paris, a concoction of roses and chamomile. This scent evokes the ultimate rendezvous. Evocative of the city where some of the greatest love stories were spun, Love in Paris is sure to remind you of your greatest romantic escapades. This subtle, sweet fragrance of delicate chamomile also relaxes both the mind and body to ease away the tensions of the day.
London Carousel. Sweet, classy and elegant-this scent is a combination of caramel & cream, black tea and bergamot. Whiffs of this will take you to a place between childlike innocence and dignified strength of true love. A threading ingredient in perfumery, black tea has a slight smoky and exotic note, which marries well with the spicy-floral scent of bergamot- the key ingredient of Earl Grey tea that calms and soothes.
Each candle retails at $23 while a set of 3 candles packaged in a chic suitcase-design box, goes for $60. The candles are made using soy, which are natural, unlike regular paraffin candles, which are made from petroleum oil. The candles will be available in stores and online from Mid September 2015.
During the event which held in a suite located in Marina at Keppel Bay, we had the chance to make our very own tea blend and scented candles. It was so fun!
After picking the candle base, a staff member would melt it in the oven while you select the essential oils. Pour the liquefied candle base in and stir to mix.
Viola! Our DIY candles after they cooled down and solidify.
Apart from the scrumptious buffet spread with London, Singapore and Paris theme, we also enjoyed cocktails prepared with teas from The 1872 Clipper Tea Co.
Much love to Bolt Industries and The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. for the wonderful evening of new experiences, lovely drinks and delectable food 🙂
