From tomorrow, diners will have the opportunity to experience a myriad of spices, seasonings and sauces of well-loved street foods from various parts of the world. Inspired by Asia, Africa and Latin America, Hard Rock Café Sentosa showcases a variety proteins paired with an array of tantalizing sauces.
Guests have a choice of 4 different proteins, grilled fajita style, which will be served on a sizzling hotplate and accompanied with marinated salad mix as well as fresh Pita Bread, nicely blistered on the skin.
We started off with the succulent Pork ($32), cooked to a delicious shade of brown, married harmoniously with Kalbi, a sweet-savory Korean-inspired sauce which comprises of soy, fresh garlic, ginger, and sesame seeds. The Chicken ($30) was a tad too dry, but the appetizing Moroccan Harissa sauce saved the day. Here, poultry is smeared with an engaging mix of dried chilies, corianders, ground caraway seeds and garlic. Spicy, but not too spicy such that the taste buds get numbed.
The following 2 items are my top picks. The tender Beef ($28), laced with the seductive aroma of the grill, is spruced up with Barbocoa, a Mexican sauce prepped from chipotle peppers, cilantro, red onion and cumin. A dash of lime juice adds a slight zesty kick that brightens up the dish.
My personal favorite is the Shrimp ($35), clocked with Piri Piri, a spicy sauce that is guaranteed to clear any congested nose. Set your palate ablaze with South African-inspired concoction of chilli peppers. It may be overwhelming for some, but spice lovers will definitely relish it.
Other marinades and sauces offered are North-African Charmoula (parsley, cilantro, fresh garlic, black pepper, red pepper, cumin and lemon juice) and Japanese Yakitori ( slightly sweet mix of soy sauce, sake, mirin , finely ground Japanese pepper)
Smoke, Fire and Spice Menu will be available from 1st August to 30th September 2016, exclusively at Hard Rock Café Sentosa
