It doesn’t matter if you’ve been naughty or nice, Mandarin Oriental is pulling all the stops to indulge diners with swoon-worthy festive buffets and stellar take-aways.
During the tasting, Melt Café showcased a plethora of irresistible yuletide offerings. We started the buffet with creamy yet light Clam Chowder, which proves to be a bowl of warm comfort.
Next, we grazed on fruity Walnut Apple Salad with strawberry silvers and raisins, as well as Parma Ham, Tomato and Bocconcini Salad. I personally prefer the latter- razor thin prosciutto and mozzarella is a combi that never goes wrong, plus, the fleshy tomatoes and balsamic vinaigrette made it even more appetizing.
We were seduced by this tempting Mandarin Oriental Truffle Christmas Turkey, where moist and juicy meat is infused with the intoxicating scent of truffle. Up the intensity with a drizzle of Truffle Sauce, or if you prefer traditional accompaniments, opt for the giblet gravy or cranberry sauce.
Another item that won our hearts was the Honey-glazed Bone-in Christmas Ham– every bite was returned with a burst of flavors.
Other yuletide delights include Apple & Chestnut Stuffing and Festive Vegetables, which comprises of roasted Brussels sprouts, carrots, tomatoes and potatoes.
Dessert options are aplenty. Be dazzled by Chocolate Log Cake prepared with dark chocolate creamier, Chocolate Viennese sponge with chocolate crunch for textural variation.
The Christmas Apricot Pistachio Pie is another enticing creation, with rosemary apricot pistachio cream on vanilla sable tart, made sinfully delicious with chocolate orange mousse.
Traditionalist-at-heart would enjoy the homemade Christmas Fruit Cake, a moist and rich dessert jazzed up with Christmas spices, dark rum and brandy.
Doesn’t the White Chocolate Christmas Wreath look too pretty to be eaten? Diners who prefer something light to complete a heavy meal would appreciate its airy mousse texture and tangy notes rendered by Amarena cherry coulis.
The items mentioned in the blog post are available for take-way too, great for when you’d like to host guests but don’t want to be slogging it out in the kitchen.
