Following the success of Cafe Manuka, actress and host Candyce Toh’s Manuka Group went on to expand with a different concept, FLO-Food Lovers Only. Instead of serving only New Zealand cuisine, FLO offers a wide variety of cafe plate from different countries.
Breakie lovers rejoice! FLO serves breakfast- Big Breakfast (15), Pancake Stack ($12), Egg Breakfast Combo ($13) and Potato Rosti ($9)- all day! For the extra ravenous, go for the FLO’s Rosti Special ($15) a gratifying plate of freshly grated potatoes, topped with sunny side up or scrambled eggs. On the side, there’s marinated pulled chicken slices, rocket salad and sour cream chives dip. Protein, carbs and greens- a balanced way to start the day indeed! Do allow 20 minutes for preparation, as rosti are made upon order.
Apart from breakfast items, FLO also offers an assortment of soups, salads, starters, main courses, sandwiches, pasta, waffles and cakes.
The Tomato Mozzarella Salad ($12) may appear pricy initially, but its portion and quality absolutely justifies the price tag.
FLO’s signature main course, Korean Inspired Marinated Chicken ($16) is grilled excellently. Love the seductive char and tender meat. The flavoursome chicken is accompanied with Korean-style fried anchovies and wholesome Kimchi Fried Brown Rice.
Another item we enjoyed is the Korean Beef Bulgogi Sandwich ($15), which comprises of juicy and well-marinated beef slices, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, caramelised onions sandwiched between ciabatta bread.
My favourite dish that afternoon would definitely be the Korean Beef Pasta ($17) where al dente stands of spaghetti are tossed in spicy house-blended sauce, which complements the beef and kimchi toppings fantastically. A must for spice lovers!
Round up your meal with FLO’s extensive variety of waffles and bakes. I was especially captivated by the Ondeh Ondeh Slice, where fragrant pandan sponge is layered with coconut cream and shredded coconut mixed with palm sugar. One of the better Ondeh Ondeh Cakes I’ve tried so far.
Don’t forget to check out the delightful Iced Butterscotch Almond Latte!
Kudos to Korean Chef Kim Jin Myeong for creating a dynamic menu that cater to different palates. The halal-certified cafe is located at IMM- Westies, now you have a new spot to catch up with friends or relax with the fam over appealing dishes and beverages. FLO also offers kids’ set menu at only $8, as well as a selection of toys and colouring tools to occupy children while parents enjoy their well-deserved break.
Many thanks to AT Marketing Consultancy for the invite.
