Shopping along Orchard road is serious business! Rest those sore heels and take a breather at Hilton D9 Cakery’s new Endless Saturday High Tea. Upon approaching the premise, you’ll be blown away by the promising dessert extravaganza displayed in a six-metre showcase at the entrance, ready for your habitual food snaps.
Meander on, and be further impressed with the variety of savories. Coupled with stylish setting and elegant ambience, THIS IS the place to escape from the frantic-paced lifestyle and rejuvenate over a spot of tea.
Commence with refreshing salads, followed by bite-sized sandwiches, Vegetable Quiches and Portuguese Egg Tarts. Don’t forget to get a dose of the oozy Salted Egg Yolk Bun and Har Gao with bundled with fresh, crunchy prawns.
Head to the local delights station, for tender and flavorsome Satay grilled to seductive perfection and a la minute Laksa that packs a punch in each mouthful. The Laksa is impeccable-no judgment if you tuck into multiple servings.
Continue with Swiss Raclette Cheese, accompanied with baguette or potatoes, as well as a selection of European Olives, pickles, capers. Oooo, melted creamy cheese that is soft with a nice pull, what’s there not to love?
Other savories that deserve a mention are the Pulled Pork Sliders, Soft Pork Curry Bun topped with Floss and Croque Monsieur.
If there’s one thing that sets Hilton’s afternoon tea buffet apart from other hotels, it would definitely be their massive dessert selection. The riotous collection of toothsome treats offer a kaleidoscope of lavish flavors and engaging textures. Warning, warning! It’s going to be difficult exerting self-control here!
Our favorites on the radar are the Rainbow Cake which boosts superb lightness and Matcha Adzuki baked with premium green tea powder and red bean paste imported from Japan. We were also wildly in love with the Lemon Tart, which featured zingy, firm curd nested within buttery short crust pastry. Oh, and that Ultimate Chocolate Decadence Gourmet Dessert Jar, prepared with 3 types of premium Valrhona chocolate, chocolate soy, caramelized hazelnuts, walnuts and crunchy fruity praline paste. Be sure to try it as it’s absolutely divine! Plus, its chocolate. How can anyone not love chocolate?
Hilton is well-known for their luscious cheesecakes and at their high tea buffet, diners can indulge in 4 varieties- Classic American Cheesecake, Blueberry Cheesecake, Caramel Cheesecake and Pecan Maple Cheesecake.
What’s afternoon tea without freshly baked scones? The crusty Classic Scones and Raisin Scones come with berry jam, marmalade and clotted cream for your scone-pairing jollification.
Conclude the languid afternoon with the unique Lemon Chocolate Fountain and Teppanyaki Ice Cream.
The afternoon tea buffet include free-flow TWG teas and coffee. Diners can opt to top up $35 bottomless rounds of tipples.
It was definitely sugar and calorie overload but who cares! Our bellies were certainly dancing with elation. Hilton’s Endless Saturday High Tea is reasonably priced at $41++ per adult and $21++ per child (5-12 years old). It was full house during our visit so be sure to make a reservation to secure a spot!
Many thanks to Hilton Singapore for the invite.
