Mango aficionados hear hear! For the month of May, Mandarin Oriental’s Axis Bar & Lounge presents an exquisite 5-course afternoon tea set that anchors around the yellow tropical fruit. Diners can anticipate a diverse collection of mango-theme savory treats and pretty nectarous nibbles.
Despite its iconic familiarity, it’s still easy to be impressed by Mandarin Oriental’s Axis Bar and Lounge afternoon tea. The menu refreshes monthly and for August, the luxury hotel celebrates Singapore 51st birthday with a diverse assortment of dainty treats inspired by our nation’s multicultural heritage.
In celebration of Singapore’s recent achievement at this year’s Asian Pastry Cup competition, Mandarin Oriental invited us to experience Speciality Pastry Chef Desmond Lee’s works. Chef Lee was part of the winning team, beating 10 other countries to clinch the coveted Gold Prize.
Before the afternoon tea began, Chef Lee showcased his winning masterpiece-a stunning plated dessert constructed from meringue.
In celebration of the nation’s golden jubilee, Mandarin Oriental’s Axis Bar and Lounge unveils 12 exclusively locally-themed afternoon tea menus each month, inspired by Singapore’s rich history of culinary flavours. Think Cantonese Salted Egg Crab in Mini Pita Pockets, Durian French Toast and Teh Tarik Crème Brulee!

Bestie and I regard taking tea as an enjoyable social ritual. I wanted to relax after a long day of meetings, while she wanted to try whether Singapore’s Mandarin Oriental afternoon tea is on par with Hong Kong’s. A valid reason to splurge a little on quality high tea, kekeke!
