It’s not every day one can indulge in Mikuni’s epicurean dinners. Thankfully, exquisite Japanese restaurant’s set lunches help satisfy cravings (until the next special occasion) without breaking the bank. Priced from $65-$120, the sets allow diners a taste of Mikuni’s signature dishes, perfect for the mid-day recharge or for corporate diners seeking to impress clients. Amex Platinum card holders and Far Card members can enjoy 50% off the total bill (2 diners only).
For ladies that lunch, The Wellness Group (TWG) is a heavenly spot. Many are familiar with this tea room being a popular afternoon tea destination, but did you know they offer excellant value for money set lunch and dinner as well?
One cannot help but be impressed with TWG’s beautifully refined interiors (photo credit: Luxartasia)
I have a soft spot for French Cuisine, so I was absolutely delighted when M mentioned she wanted to check out Gunther’s. After more than 5 years at helm at Les Amis, award winning chef Gunther Hubrechsen is now the chef-owner of Gunther’s, located at the swanky Purvis Street.
M was in town so I had an accomplice to satisfy my curiosity on much-raved-about Iggy’s. Named after its founder, award-winning Sommelier and restaurateur Ignatius Chan, Iggy’s is ranked 14 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2014. We arrived with high expectations.
Back at Gordon Grill to try their Big-on-small set lunch, which is a fantastic way to sample a variety of offerings. Some may wonder, what is Big-on-small? Basically it’s a tasting menu where you can select 3 appetizers, 3 soups and 2 desserts apart from your choice of a single main course. A 3 course lunch would set you back $50++ while 4-course is priced at $60++. For most fine dining restaurants, such good deals are only available on weekdays, but Gordon Grill serves Big-on-small set lunches on Saturdays as well. Set lunch (and promo) lovers rejoice!
Note: Au Jardin has been replaced with Corner House
How sad! Au Jardin under the prestigious Les Amis Group will be shutting its doors in approximately 2 weeks (apparently due to lease issues). In French, Au Jardin means “in the garden”. How apt, as it’s located in the beautiful Singapore Botanic Garden.
Valentines is just around the corner, which gives everyone the perfect excuse to splash out on a nice, romantic meal. How about some French fine dining at Jaan? Ranked 22nd in the Inaugural Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2013, Jaan is a must try!
Last year, Hubby and I savored a degustation set lunch at Jaan. We wanted to revisit for Valentines this year, but was informed that the 50% discount American Express Platinum promotion was only applicable for dinner. The next available dinner slot is on 31st MAY (my gosh), which I booked to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Since both Hubby and I love the food and ambience here, we are willing to wait (long long).
